“The end does not justify the mean” . Have you ever heard of this quote?What does it mean? The first time I heard the statement above, I wasn’t exactly sure what it really means. Honestly. Our instructor wrote those words in the blackboard during our class and asked us, his students, the meaning. I was so glad he did not ask me directly, because if he did, I swear I would stammer and remain silent. Our instructor gave us an example. I can’t remember the exact words, but the idea was like this: John has a very sick daughter, but due to lack of money, the hospital won’t admit his daughter. To get the necessary money, his only choice is to rob a bank. In this case, does the end (to save his daughter) justify the means (to rob a bank)? If you were in my position that time, how are you going to answer? Do you agree that it is not always right to do something wrong to get to something right?

Outdoor Lighting is the Solution

Just last night, i had a hard time entering my house coz my keys accidentally fell on the ground and it is really dark for is has no lightnings outside. I searched for my keys and it took me almost forever to find it. I was really upset for what happen. Instead of spending that time to relax , i just had wasted it just to find my keys. This gives me an idea to place an outdoor lightning near my front door. Installing an outdoor lighting is not just to provide light every night but also for security purposes as well. I should have done it before. Anyway, the problem has been solved already and i have nothing to worry about anymore.

My Reaction Upon Manila Bus Hostage Taking Incident

I know I should be sad by know on what happened yesterday when 8 Hong Kong Nationals were killed on a Hostage drama in Manila. We really hook our eyes on every single details of the event. However, I think instead of blaming anyone, it is much better if we will just treat this as a lesson for the police to improve their tactics, for the media people to limit their coverage and for the people to be aware if ever this incident happens in the near future. I understand the Chinese people and how they felt bad for their countrymen but blaming the entire Filipino people is very unacceptable. Not to mention the incident reported earlier that an OFW were fired by her boss for the reason that she is a Filipino. This incident only shows “racism” and it is very unfair for us. I am very thankful to the international acclaimed action star , Jackie Chan, for showing respect to the Filipino people as he stated on his Twitter account. “This kind of things always happen around the world [sic]. It happened to hk’s people, the whole hk is talking about it. It’s really sad.” Jackie Said.

This is an isolated case and Filipinos should not be blame for what happened. NO one would love that hostage taking incident to end up in a horrible nightmare taking lives of the 8 Hong Kong nationals.I hope this incident will serve as a lesson for everyone. Let’s just pray for their souls.

If you are following me on my Facebook account, i am sure you know that i am helping my auntie with her small business. So far, so good. Everything went perfectly fine with my Aunties Business and in fact, we are thinking on how to improve her sales by encouraging more buyers. We came to an idea of renovating the store ans change it to something nice, more appealing, and more catchy to everyone. We are also planning to change the hand-drawn poster to a digital copy. This colorful and computerized menus can attract more customer and i am sure my auntie will be very happy with it and i am very excited as well with the outcome.

Why Postponed

Our team suggested if we can have a team building after the August 15 pay day. Everyone was very excited when we were discussing the plans. Some suggested that we should have our team building in Mahayhay in Laguna. One of our team mates even said that she is willing to shell out money for the team and of course, our TL would do the same. However, as we get closer to the said date of our team building, most members decided not to push through because of personal reasons. Another reason is the salary we got, it isn’t enough to cover all expenses. A day before the said team building, we just decided to change the venue to EK (Enchanted Kingdom) however, we still didn’t pushed through of course, others did not confirm. Honestly, I feel sad because I believe that this is the only time we can bond and enjoy together as a team without thinking of our work and yet this what happens… I think we also need to look at the brighter side… It would be a great help for most of us because my other team mates are also supporting their families. Maybe, there will be next time… if there will be… I hope.

All About Basketball

Basketball is a very popular sport here in the Philippines. Since we do not have wide space for football arenas, we used to play basketball and any other related sports instead. I am really not a sporty or athletic type of guy and i never been involved in any sport events, sport leagues, or even in varsity. maybe because my body is too weak for this sport, making me not qualified to become a certified basketball player. However, even though i do not play the actual game, i know all the rules and i always watch the live game on tv. If there’s one person in our family who really play well in basketball, that would be my younger brother. He is very active in sport and also a member of their school varsity. In fact, he will be celebrating his birthday this coming September and i am planning to buy him a gift. I want to make it something special and something that i can relate with his hobby. I bought him a ball last year and this year, i am planning to buy him a personalized basketballs commemorative. Get rid of the Boredom

Hi guys, this entry is the last continuation of my “tips on how to keep your self from getting bored”. You may want to check my previous entries at “Keep Your Self From getting Bored” and “Boredom No More” posts. One of the most effective way of getting rid from boredom is by checking or watching your appearance. Pride in their personal appearance saves many women from boredom so us men. Keep your self attractive with a new hair-do, by being always neat and tidy even in old clothes, by doing best to keep from becoming fat. Another key to keep your self from getting bored is by spending enough time to relax. You should not be tense on everything. When you are bored, your tendency is to get away from what bores you and unable to do this, you become tense. For example: You hate to do the laundry and try to postpone it but you think of the consequences when you fail to wash and iron your hubby’s work clothes and the children school uniforms, so you force your self to do the said chores. you are tense while working, so you do the job badly or do it in a longer time. Why not just relax and take it easy?

It is also great if you spend more of your time with your family and have more family fun. Most moms who are bored by the task of caring their small children try to get away from them. the solution is to include children in your fun. Take along your baby when you visit your neighbors or relatives. Ask your hubby and your kids to help you with the household chores. Go out as a family, even if it is only to walk down the street.

A Halloween Preparation

Time really run out so fast don’t you think? August is about to end already and the what so-called “ber” months are about to come. We all know that during this months (September to December), there are so many special occasion and holidays to celebrate including Christmas Day and New years Eve. But among any other occasion, i am very excited with the upcoming Halloween and you know why? We can finally use again all the Halloween costumes we have bought last year.

However, some of them are quite old and the colors are quite fading already but of course, we have nothing to worry because we can buy new costumes online anytime. But for the meantime, we will try to check which costumes are still okay and which are not. How about you? What are your plans this coming Halloween?

Keeping yourself in Track

I used to read broadsheets newspaper to keep myself updated from the latest happenings in government and in showbiz too. I just love reading current events and other parts of the newspaper including the sports section where i can track if my favorite team is on the lead or not. I also love the entertainment section where i can view all the latest celebrity gossips and blind items. Business section is my least favorite however, i try to keep my self updates with the latest status of the stock market and the latest foreign exchange rate. My Grandfather, who is an american citizen, used to help me in my studies by providing me a financial assistance. He used to send me checks, or sometimes “door to door” remittance and i will be the one to exchange the money (dollar) to our currency (peso). This is the reason why i always check the latest and updated Forex charts to know if i received the right amount when it is converted to peso. Anyway, reading a newspaper will help you in so many ways. It can broadened your knowledge, widened your skills in communication, keep you updated and enhance your grammar when writing an article.

Boredom no More!

Here’s is the continuation of my post about getting rid of boredom. Another way of keeping your self from getting bored. It is great if you will give your self a “Private hour” each day to do only what you want. Read, re do your stuffs, or just sit quietly and think. Try to see the funny side of life. Laughter is the best tonic for boredom. The more you laugh, the less bored you will be. Vary or change your home setting. A hom,e should have an occasional face-lifting and this can be done without any cost. Change the position of the chairs. If you have curtains at hte windows, remove them and change them into something new or you can also place plants instead. If you have a porch, you can serve your meal there instead of in hte dining room or kitchen.

Change your recreation. Recreation or a hobby should be something you like to do, not something you feel you ought to do because your wifey, hubby or your children or some people like it.

In work, try your best to approach your job creatively. Repetitious chores are not necessarily boring if you keep your mind active while engaged in them. Thus, while you are cleaning and dusting, devise ways and means to do hte work better or shorten the time in doing them. We are being creative when we discover something new to us.
