It’s summer! And it’s also the right time to prepare some of our Summer desserts especially the all time favorite Filipinos “Halo Halo”. Halo Halo is a popular Filipino dessert which is somehow similar to Malaysia’s Iced Kacang though it has more ingredients added on it. Halo Halo is simply a mixture of shaved Ice and Evaporated milk with the mixture of some other ingredients like Boiled sweet kidney beans, red beans, garbanzos, Sago, Gulaman, Corn kernels, Sweet Potato cubes, Melon strips, Pinipig crunch, Nata de Coco, Kaong, macapuno or coconut sport and more.

Then it is usually topped by Ube, Jackfruit, Leche plan, and Ice Cream. Here in Cavite, you will usually see one Halo Halo vendor from one block to another. It is really an in demand summer treat and simply irresistible. For a tropical country like Philippines, this kind of dessert is a perfect stress reliever. It provides a relaxing relief. Well, we just had a halo halo yesterday and we are going to try it more time this later on. It’s a perfect Merienda and you can match it with Turon or Banana Que.. Yum Yum!
